Hinxhill

 towards the North Downs from Hinxhill
 The Pirate was born in the room with a window in the black wall.

The village church where the Pirate was bell ringer and sidesman.
He left the village in 1960, never to return to live there.

A sidesman in the Church of England, rings the bells, welcomes people into the church,takes the collection and generally helps the church warden.
