wet week

We went to the Borders to see the first day of the Tour of Britain pro cycle race...didn't manage to get there early enough, so listened on local radio...headed for a cuppa in Biggar thinking to get a wee ride in ourselves...ah well, the bikes got a ride in the car!

Getting out on the bikes keeps us healthy...and sane...at the moment every time we had time for a ride it rained....cabin fever!!!!

We accepted our friend's invitation to see a ship get named...(he is a coppersmith by craft and trade, but spends most of the time at a desk!) At least we had three hours in the dry then...even the ship was dry as the bottle of whisky didn't smash.....
At last, come Saturday, sun, wind, loads of washing done and dried and a bike ride!!!!
I went to Ayr to see the sea...
and a railway bridge that is no more
and newer houses fitting in with the old on the harbourside.
Today we'd planned a longer ride together...but all day it has been blowing a hooley and chucking even more water down.
Instead, a little more housework was done, the Pirate mended a vacuum cleaner and we watched the last stage of the Tour of Britain into Cardiff on the tv...and it was playing the same weather there too.

Maybe we'll get out for a walk to the village shop......

We have lovely weather today. Take heart; it will be your way next.

I think the weather has received more attention than politicians lately on the news...I guess that could be good...but unfortunately it has to be disastrous to get headlined...nobody would watch a show about sweet breezes on cool sunny days. We'd all be out enjoying that! Glad you got out for a while anyway!

Lovely pics! Sorry the weather isn´t cooperating. I keep meaning to get a bike. One of those commuter types with the big comfy seats and a basket for the shopping.
