The past couple of days have been profitable.
I've done some garden tidying
Bean poles are all in, onions weeded and hoed, grass mowed and the clippings used as mulch on the tatties, strawberry plants from the Carpenter planted...and bread trays out over them to dissuade cats and birds!
That was done before the rain came and it turned cold again.
The waterbutts now are completely full, and the garden is growing apace.
Indoors I have been getting on with a new block...
Paper first....then I inked the lino, partly to obscure an unused design, then drew and cut...
Doing the fiddly bits first...just in case...
Printed a small batch...then added the details...nostril, grey legs and beak and dark brown eye. Finally wrote the card backs and added the title.
This afternoon friends from The Isle of Lewis called by on their way South... good to see them...and they left me a present...which I have now planted in a big pot, surrounded by geraniums and placed by the front door.

Beautiful cards!
Good luck with your strawberries. The slugs have already had a good go at ours ☹
I love to see your linocut process, thank you for showing us.
Your growing space looks divine. So we'll organized. I'm amazed how fast your design went from concept to card! I like the crow - one of my favourite birds. The sketch you worked from looks like a youthful bird still making demands on its parents.
Aha...a rook it is!! Notice the bare bit of skin between beak and feathers! Also , as they say it is a matter of a pinion....rooks have 17, crows 16 pinion feathers!!
On the way back from the last trip south I stopped at Tebay services and there were three or four young rooks playing in the unsurfaced car park as the wind whipped around!
I like your sassy bird!
You're welcome..there is a fair bit of observing and thinking before pen goes to paper , as well
...your garden is off to good start!
Your garden is growing well, and it looks like you'll have a good harvest.
Your new cards are looking good. Rooks are strong bold birds.
I love seeing process. This is wonderful -- love a good crow and this one looks very sassy!
Crow, raven, rook . . whatever you call it, it's a great bird!
May your harvest be bountiful.
I really do love your cards.
As you say a profitable couple of days. It is always good to get jobs ticked off the list.
I like the Rook block.
The bees will love that lavender. Good job on the rook! I like the diagonal frame you gave it.
Gosh your vege garden looks so wwell organized, I need to do that with mine, loving the lavender in the pot.
