A different sort of teef!!

 Another trip to Glasgow today!!

This time by car ..in the drizzly showers..and it was a home game for Celtic football club...they are over the road from the velodrome and can use "our" car parks...but it isn't reciprocal when there is a big cycling event on..."it's nae fitba' " !! I was lucky to be allowed in and found one of the few spaces!

It isn't just cycling in our building...there are gyms, fitness suites, indoor athletics track, offices....and a health spa!

The Womens Track Fund had a two hour session on...I wasn't there to take part, just to see a couple of friends..and make a new one...she bought a chainring...

and is borrowing a wheel later this month..which hopefully she will buy!

I left at 3pm...apparently Kick off time for the game but people were still walking towards the ground from the local station.

Plenty of police around on motorbikes...I turn onto the motorway after about a mile..and one was just in front of me.

The speed limit there is 50mph...and it needs to be, and urban motorway with junction after junction...quite satisfying to see the speed hogs' guilty consciences kicking in as they notice the police motorbike minding his own business a few cars ahead if me....

After 5 miles , near the edge of Glasgow I can turn off and there is a Waitrose supermarket..I'd forgotten carrots in my shopping the other day...then I can carry on on the old , quieter road home!!

Another busy day for you. That sounds like a very busy roadway. The older I get, the less I like the big highways.

A good day.

You're right in saying if they’re visible it’s a deterrent. Here in Australia some of our states place movable ‘cardboard cutouts’ of highway patrol cars on the roadside (sort of hidden in the scrub) of main out of town highways. You can see the red brake lights coming on as oncoming traffic gives the flashing light warning.

It’s the same here. During the football season it’s rare to find a car park anywhere near a sporting arena And there is always extra police out and about. They’re needed with all those extra cars on the roads. It is bedlam driving anywhere near there

We have a stretch of motorway which gets a fair bit of speeding and dangerous weaving so when there is traffic police driving along, everyone clams on and drives as they should. Wish they did all the time.

It's on my bucket l8st to have a session in a velodrome, the nearest one is the BC one at Manchester but logistically still a major day out. Maybe one day?

You travel well and the car park worked well. Great to make more sales.
Our roads backup during commuting hours and I try to avoid those hours. City garage parking is generally expensive and on street parking is both sparce and limited to 2 hours. Exceed the limit and your car is towed and a hefty fine is charged.

My sister outlaw used to make quite a bit of money parking cars in her backyard when there was a football (Australian Rules) game on at the nearby Gabba in Brisbane.
