butterfly

Have you any idea how many brown butterflies are in the books?!

We took a walk around Hannahston the local opencast mine turned nature reserve..the conditions were just right for lots of these to emerge.

I've just been perusing your latest posts and photos after not visiting for a while. So nice! I don't know if we have brown butterflies here.

we don't seem to get many of the smaller butterflies here. Lots of Monarchs but not a lot else.

a brown butterfly landed on my knee in the garden today, it had bright orange dots on its antennae and as I stooped to say hello it was gone, very pretty - definitely not a moth as they fly at night. we have so many varieties of butterfly in the uk it's hard to identify.

It looks like it is growing from that plant.

Rather subtle beauty.

I think those are brown ringlet butterflies.
