Ticking along, now Winter is really here

We can see the snow on the Bens...

And at last the first step in fruit cake making ....

Our latest delivery of wholefoods arrived upsidedown! All present and correct, just two dented tins...no wonder the driver legged it as soon as pirate opened the door.
My image list is full of photos from all angles of bric a brac and bike bits ready to go on eBay..I am taking a photo of the glass and ceramics and their packaging, just in case they get used as footballs....

We realised this morning that this is our first winter here in three years. No wonder it is getting to us rather.. difficult to get started and motivated ....and then it is lunchtime...get just a little done, and it gets dark!!

Never mind...18 days to the winter solstice, then the light will be returning, even though you don't really notice it until the beginning of February.

Hang in there with the darkness, it is only a couple-ish weeks till winter solstice, then the light returns. xxx

That is my great thought. From the solstice on, every day is more light and one day closer to spring.

Id swap with you anytime you want. What cake recipe do you use, I usually use one from the edmonds cookbook.

Amy I saw the Edmonds cookbook last visit..it looks a good reliable book!
I used Nigel Slater's recipe for a small cake and doubled it for a 26cm cake...photo tomorrow when I have more light!
