Catch-up

You wouldn't think that it would be so difficult to get everything back running smoothly after two weeks away.....

Only today has the last batch of washing been done!! Then getting it all kept, ready for the next trip.

The garden needed much attention as well. Hopefully the lawn won't need too much attention after today's cut, but that depends on temperature..it WILL keep growing over 5⁰C!!

Despite a late start and too much time away it is satisfying to eat veges from the garden. Tonight we had runner beans, broad beans, carrots and beetroot...and one small sweetcorn because the wind snapped the top off one plant!!  All that after rasberries with this morning's breakfast.

It is always amazing how much there is to catch up on after even a very short time away. Great harvest.

Nice to come home to a good crop of veggies :) we have inherited some raspberry bushes on the allotment and Gardeners World discuss them on this weeks program so I will be watching with interest as not sure if I have Summer or Autumn bushes. I looked back/caught up on your past posts - great that you halved your internet/phone provider costs, we are just about to review ours.

Yippee for your garden goodies. Enjoy them. I know what you mean about catch up after being away, it's never ending. I was planning to mow again today; but it rained and is too wet. All the rain we've had and the cool nights is causing it to grow and grow. It's only been about 5 days since I last mowed and it needs it again. Tomorrow is another day.

I am surprised how much is still growing now - although the temperatures are definitely reducing so I suspect the autumnal growth spurt may slow down.
I find the washing catch up is the worst part of a jolly away 😊

Oh we had a wonderful supper of grilled chicken and the tiny potatoes from our potato harvest and fresh steamed green beans. It was the supper of champions. Nothing finer than fresh vegetables!
