Ticking along

Not good news about the crown..it was just a cap..so not enough height of tooth to put a peg in for a new crown....so end of January he will smooth it off and a new tooth will be added to my plate. The root is behaving so it can stay as long as it does!

Apart from that, I found a new café...called Puck....which is the thing that the coffee grounds are pressed into for an espresso machine.  It is where the kitchen shop used to be....a marvellous place, source of kitchen and pottery tools!!

Work at home carries on with sorting and reducing.

I've filled most of the space with books from the living room shelves....and there is a large carrier bag of books to go, some possibly to my daughter.
Half an hour steadily on the turbo trainer..must do this more often!
It wasn't fit to go out for a walk, let alone a bike ride!

I know....we used to ride whatever the weather, almost... shopping, commuting, racing, training...or just for fun! Walking as well....

Now I don't have to.....

I still use the bus as much as possible...the car gets its regulation once a week outing to make sure everything is working ok, and not seizing up!!

As ever the last place you lose any excess weight from....is the first place it arrives!

I do not want to buy any new clothes!!

Oh, sorry about the tooth. Things never seem to be simple as we get older.
I need to do more downsizing. You are doing great at it.

Your bookcase is looking very ship-shape!

You are being very organized. I have some expensive books of Keith's to sell, but will probably take them to a couple of Antique fairs before listing them on Fleabay.

Ah yes, the last place to lose weight is the first place it goes. Must share this with my daughter, who like me had the boobs in the family . . .

Yes. There were two others. My grandmother's. I was lucky to get one...mother disposed of the others and just tied bundles of books up with string and got rid. It hurt.

I look around and don't feel great at it!

Your bookcases look beautiful and nicely organized. Nice job GZ.
Good to get the tooth sorted. Isn't it something how these things happen at a busy time of the year. At least you are not in pain. Thank goodness.

I learned long ago that keeping books makes no sense, particularly novels. With very few exceptions I will never read them again! So now we have all our books on a single set of shelves, and even then I think we have too many. A handful I keep not to re-read but because they remind me of a certain time of life.

Sorry about the tooth. That's a drag. Hope the repair work goes smoothly.

Oh decluttering is a slog, there is no doubt. We are doing it while preparing to sell the house and all too much is in the "we'll decide later, put it in storage" which only means that it will go on for longer! Still, its a bit like many things, you don't feel it in the beginning but the weight is lifting.

Those bookshelves look very inviting! Good for you on the turbo trainer. I need something like that to keep from becoming completely worthless. And, yes, you don't have to go out if you don't want to. And with that weather, I wouldn't want to.

Much of what is left is reference books apart from the fiction that I do re-read

Bummer about the tooth. As one facing upcoming dental work in the new year, I feel for you. Well done on winnowing things out. I need to take lessons from you.

GZ let it be known that you have inspired one soul towards betterment today. Zig-zagging from one procrastination path to another this morning; including changing and washing sheets; to avoid the paperwork invading the dining table for the past several weeks; gathered prior to applying recently for Social Security and Survivors' Benefits. Demoralized by the fact that I still have to read and satisfy French (& prior EU English) requirements. Your mention of regular excercise hit me like a truck. Of course, I'm not even walking lately, as my job precludes Fostering and walking Dogs (of which I've had 50 plus over the decades). I just located and unearthe my rowing machine in the garage. I think it will fit in my bedroom and resolve even the guilt I feel about lounging in front of the TV for hours. Now, solving the problem of lack of company, may lead to other adventures...may the mind boggle!

Steady as she goes!! Xx

I can't wait to get back on the bike, I never took to the turbo trainer (perhaps because space is limited and the setup would be too much).
