Quilting at Shambellie House

A marvellous and inspiring exhibition at a beautiful house...hopefully they will succeed in their aim for a study and work centre.

The next Scottish Quilters exhibition is scheduled for September 2020 at Shambellie House, in New Abbey near Dumfries. I wonder if I'll have that half finished quilt of mine done for then...
started 1997 in Y Bala...

It seems we women and men will never stop making and displaying out quilts. I wonder if, in the end, the world will sink under the weight of all the textiles we've produced. That said, I fitted up a bassinet for my youngest granddaughter with handwoven inner lining and sheets. I really like the example of a quilt. On my bucket list is making a rug like the one shown. It's called a jelly roll rug, though it can be as easily made from one's quilting stash. Since I don't have a stash, I will use jelly rolls.
