Squash!

Halfway through the first big one, of two.

The stalk had begun to rot, so better use it than lose it. The other is ok so far.

I have one small pumpkin, still looking good. Of the three small butternut squash, one half rotted, so I used the other half in a batch of soup.

Now is the time to plan where they get to grow next year!

We lost one (the bigger of course) which suddenly imploded without warning - so there must have been an issue internally that we'd not spotted when we turned and checked the pumpkins.
However the remaining ones and the spaghetti squash are all doing really well and still looking good :)

What are you going to do with it? I'd be putting it in a soup with corn and barley.

It's interesting you can grow butternut squash there. We tried here for the first time this year without success. I'm wondering if I gave up too soon because there were two or three small ones hiding under the leaves when I pulled up the plants around the end of October.
