Nice up there isn't it. when I was club cycling with CTC we used to stop at a little cafe in Wye (now long gone) for elevenses before tackling that stiff climb to the top of the Downs, getting that view as a reward.

Nowadays I sometimes do it on an ebike!

I do love looking out over what I call "a vista."

I'm just reading a book set in Hay-on-Wye... is that the same Wye River?
(The geography of your large island is a mystery to me. There's so much!)

Fresca no...the River Wye is in Wales, comes out at Chepstow. This is Wye the small town in Kent...but the same Celtic root to the word meaning water.
Avus we would love to put you in touch with a cycling friend of Pirate's who lives in Ashford...and has a partner in Folkestone!..a mere 78..but might be up for an occasional ride

Thanks, GZ! I have looked up Kent on a map and see it's not even close to Wales! :) Even though I worked on geography books for kids, I've never been good at the maps themselves...
