A wander around town, a subway lunch then a coffee in the café you can see from where I am in the WiFi room of the i-site.
It is called the Mud Ducks café.... you'll see why in a minute...
After resting my feet, on we go..
The ball bearing on the Riverside which has a map of the Whanganui River set in it...very good for reflective selfies!
And there are the mud ducks!
I was lucky to catch a sight of a traction engine that had driven from Fielding (about 45km?) coming to town ready for next weekend's Vintage Weekend...and the Waimarie paddle steamer returning from a trip upriver.
Then a walk to the next bridge up, Dublin Street Bridge, for an extra 3km pleasant walk.

You must have covered nearly every street in town and half the surrounding district. You certainly put in some miles.
Doggy Doos Only. That made me smile.
...thanks for taking me along to see the sights. Where are we off to next?
wonder about the setting of the first shot, king frog riding a fish? Loved all these wonderful designs just given for everyone to enjoy!
You have a true artist's eye for interesting detail!
You certainly do look fit and healthy! I'm enjoying all your pictures...and trying not be envious of your short sleeves!
That's a beautiful cafe, and good to see a self-portrait! It must feel amazing to be in a warm place where you can walk freely. Much different from here at the moment!
I feel there is always something 'alive' about old steam engines, a lovely set of pictures though the first one of the whale I must confessing somewhat
You are looking great. All the lovely sunshine suits you well. There is lots to see and explore. Even better, everything seems within walking distance.
Ko au te Awa, Ko te Awa te au.
That is the original saying..I am the River and the River is me.
(Also the name of a film) and the name of that mural reflects that
You look amazing! All that walking? It looks like a fascinating place.
