Skies

No Aurora photos for me last night...there was a glow on the horizon, but the lights you can see... actually much brighter, especially the airport lights in the middle...are no help.

But this morning..

Was clear and cold...again a decent photo was hampered by "security" lights constantly on....and shining upwards... they've just been attached to house walls without regard to angles unfortunately.

Today is slowly tidy and clean, think if I've missed anything that should be packed....and if there is anything that can be left out!

I'm looking forward to clothes shopping in Whanganui...I have clothes that I bought there twelve years ago that are beginning to look a little worse for wear...I'll be going back to my favourite shops for old and new things.

For some reason I find it easier to get things that fit and suit me there!!

It isn't often that I look forward to shopping!!

Having to go clothes shopping is my idea of hell. That's why I'm just a jeans 'n t-shirt kinda gal.

I didn't know about the aurora possibly occurring last night and I was out admiring the stars too - may be we're just a bit too far down. Will look again tonight, fingers crossed :)

Lol, It’s so funny that you look forward to shopping halfway around the world! Even though I work at a thrift store I often don’t buy any clothes for ages – – until mine are practically falling apart.
Good luck getting everything prepared for your wonderful upcoming trip!

I've enjoyed your dawn and sunset photos...the sometimes colorful clouds. Just think how the rest of the winter we'll not see that, because you're on your shopping junket! Kidding. I'm glad you are going as it definitely sounds like a fun thing to do, and this is the time to do it!

Good luck with your clothes shopping Down Under.

Living in a urban area makes night photos difficult.

Especially near an airport!

It sounds like you are well prepared for your travel and are looking forward to NZ. When I travel, I pack light and buy what I need when I arrive. Knowing NZ shops should serve you nicely.

I’m sure if you have forgotten something you will be able to buy it once your there. Unless it’s Scottish gifts for family and friends.
I’ll wave at every plane as it goes by

I also left clothes and shoes behind when I was in the UK and in Ireland. I wanted to be able to bring things home!

Oh, wow! From Scotland all the way to New Zealand. What a trip!

I understand waiting until you travel to buy clothes. I do the same thing -- I sometimes pick up clothes at thrift stores when I go back to the states. (Though I rarely buy anything anymore!)

You will be coming over to Summer, although I am not sure of the tenor of NZ Summers - sometimes Southern Australian Summers are harsher than those we get in Queensland (beautiful one day, perfect the next as the tourism slogan said - they would have to give money back yesterday) so good luck - and enjoy shopping!
