Ok, that lot landed in reverse....a little later than hoped, I started in Kowhai Park near where I am staying an kept to the bike path most of the 10½ km to Upokongaro...where there used to be a ferry years ago..and now reunited by a bridge.
Brunch in the café there then retrace steps to the river bridge...and carrying on into town where the water sculpture is, quite discreet but beautiful.
And blogger has decided to.park the video at the top!!
After a rest, over to the velodrome to watch a training session
Then an hour watching and listening to music in an open mic night, celebrating the boat being restored and working....a steamboat paddle driven....
The musicians are on the paddle steamer Waimarie, the lounge is the Green Room.
The audience sat on the riverbank enjoying the music and the sun, people of all ages and types...a pop up bar served drinks, a good van had all sorts of savoury pots plus salad, chips, drinks.....
I could have stayed longer but I was tired..and thinking of supper back at the Stayplace!!
I tried to put a video up, but at two minutes it said it was too big!

happily enough - Thursday is a sun day here too - but probably not as warm! I gave up a long time ago trying to insert videos in blogger - never seemed to manage it!
A lovely day, the weather too!
I love the video of the water sculpture!
...sun days are rare here lately.
The water is going very fast, I like the colour of the tiles.
It sounds like you are keeping fit anyway. I need to get out tomorrow after two days of long drives and a mammoth washing up effort at Tam's!
You are enjoying so many experiences! Sounds like a perfect day.
I've never tried one that long! I don't usually record more than a minute...they take a while but upload ok
The NZ sunshine and blue sky looks great. You are keeping busy. The outdoor velodrome looks terrific.
Sitting on a riverbank and enjoying live music is always enjoyed.
Remember the Wizard of Oz? When Dorothy emerges from her house and is met by all the color? Your blog feels a bit like that. You left gray and wintry Scotland and stepped into a world of sunshine and bright colors... Look down? Are you wearing ruby slippers?
Grey sandals.....but classy leather ones....yes, I see what you mean.
You can put a longer video at YouTube and embed it in your blog post -- that's what I do. (Not that two minutes is really all that long!)
