Not much!!

After staying up into the wee small hours today was rather low key!!

Breakfast was.... brunch...

I missed most of this morning's dry weather, so the wash load was only outside for a couple of hours before the rain returned. But at least that short time will make the clothes smell nice.

The wall got its second coat and the packaging was tidied a little...I'm not sure that I need that much...but how can you get rid of a useful box?!!

The living windowsill and mantelpiece got a clear and clean...and I did my best not to put it all back!!

Now there are a couple of piles to be sorted

Can you read the cross stitch sampler that Pirate was given?

Plus more corners...

And there's the CD and map shelves too...

But everything is slowly improving.  You can't rush this....

Supper was a mixture of leftover veggies and green salad from the fridge, and savoury and sauce from the freezer (home-made)

Nice and quick....then cushion patchwork sewing to the accompaniment of interesting historical videos.

Your doing a magnificent job of it. Yes. It has to be slow otherwise we get overwhelmed and don’t throw anything out.
I blame my grandmother, growing up in poverty, she wouldn’t throw anything out.

A useful box is indeed a great temptation to keep. I'm guilty of that myself from time to time.

You have a lot of stuff packed away in your house. There's no fast and dirty way to get rid of it.

Congratulations on your decluttering progress! I should let myself be inspired by your efforts and tackle my own mess!!

Interesting historical videos… on YouTube? Could you point me at some? Thank you!!

Busy day! I have found tgat my most creative friends have lots of interesting things around their houses...on windowsill, shelves, etc. So not clutter but inspiration, perhaps? Of course, there can be too much of any good thing!

Ha, yes. I read the sampler. Very funny.

You've been incredibly productive! Well done!

You will feel you are living in a new house with all the work and re-decorating you are accomplishing. It all looks great.

Little by little you are making progress! Do I see a familiar mailing tube on the right in that third photo? :)

I am very guilty of saving good containers - we are packing to sell and move at the moment and I am having to purge - its painful.

There are many! Search and enjoy

Yes you do! I'm going to take them to a friend who is also a sympathetic antique dealer....with a view to finding new....or new to them...handles. I know that she will use them too .

Made for Pirate by a friend who house and dog sat a couple of times when he was on his travels

Like grandma said...If you can't move, move the furniture!!

Sending sympathy!

There's a limit to how many places you can move the furniture to.
Love a useful box. JacquieB

You know what I love? I love that you are so patiently practical. You see what needs done and you just do it, without urgency, without self chatisement...it will get done...slow and steady wins the race.

The process is painfully, but what a good feeling when it has been done!

I think you've done very well so far, no doubt you will get through the rest in your own time.

But inside my head feels frustrated and desperate

“Please don’t clean my mess…” 😄

I would enjoy coming to visit and looking at all your enticing trinkets – – I love when people have odds and ends out, each with a story no doubt.

That is why it has been so hard to move things from the window sill and mantelpiece...and everywhere else. But sometimes there comes a point where they hold you back as much as sustain you

Very true.
