peopling

I had the jobs lined up...drive into town on quiet back roads, get specific things from two shops then collect my laptop.

Very nicely, with the extra work they did on it , they didn't ask for anything above the initial quote, which they could have done.

Then a late lunch in Waterstones....and a short blether with a friend in tbe small shop on the high street where she works.

Did I fancy another three hours in Ayr until the Italian evening?....I could have gone to the library and joined in on the Italian conversation group that alternates with the French one....

I need to socialise a little more, but...

I escaped  instead!!

Back home I carried on hunting for tbe drawing book with glaze recipes...instead I found the notebooks with daily records of the pottery work I did from 2007-2012.

How I did all that...and worked part time..and had two allotments...two of my sons were still at home...

I wonder where all the pots are now?!

Sounds like a busy day.

I recently ran into old sketch books of various pottery ideas, and notes even on some glaze tests. I tossed them. Many of the pots are in people's homes in North Carolina, and some in mine, but I've also had quite a few that were rejects and their broken bits will be in land-fills somewhere.

If I had a choice between going home or peopling I think I would most likely have gone home too.

Oh, where is our energy of yesteryear?

I often say I don't know how I found time to go to work, life is still as busy even though we're retired. Xx

Did you sell all the pots? It must be odd to think of so many things you made just floating around out there. Does anyone ever contact you with a piece of your pottery, to say they have it or found it in a charity shop or anything like that?

I found one piece on ebay years ago, and a couple of times I've identified my work on the UK Mystery Studio Pots page on fb.
Some I gave as presents, and it is nice to visit someone and see them obviously being used, not just brought out specially

my daughter has offered to organise them ...unfortunately I'd need to be there to decipher the writing and the ceramic shorthand!!
