We had frost last night..even in the polytunnel. Not too much damage, thankfully.
One bit of gardening good news..I saved some seed of several squashes I liked in 2013. It was a long shot but I planted a few of them at the end of March.
Yesterday Jack Be Little showed a strong pair of leaves...and today Crown Prince looked as if it might be growing.... This is exciting!!

Great news that the squash seed was still viable after so many years, certainly worth giving it a try!
I hope to make a polytunnel or two this week as our almost frost free Autumn cannot continue much longer before we awaken to a good frost!

I am hoping our last frost was last night and we can start moving forward again. It has been a very cold Spring here in Ohio! My starts are busting out of their little pots. Saving seeds is the best way to go! I started kale from seed harvesting in 2009! Was shock how viable it was. I guess as long as it is kept dry and dark they stay mostly viable. Congratulations on you squash! Do post pictures!!
It's been chilly here too. We had a frost warning and covered plants in the garden and brought in everything in pots. I don't think we actually had a frost but it was close! There have been a couple of mornings that I thought I should turn the heat on, but put on another layer of clothes instead.
