Sunny day out

We had a multi purpose day out! Foraging, picnic lunch and a bike ride up National Bike Route 7 to the ice cream shop in Irvine.

There are more of the sculptures around the main streets in Irvine, I think I did a blog post about them a few years ago.

It was a good thing we took advantage of the weather, despite all the jobs to be done on the list at home..today is back to wet cold and windy.

The weather has decidedly been fickle erring towards wet recently, today was supposed to be a working outside day.... turns out it is definitely not, so am trying to make friends with my sewing machine🙄

Love the stained hands. And the sculptures

What a great view out over the open sea! And it looks like somebody needs some stout work gloves for foraging expeditions.

Your multi purpose day sounds lovely - a good balance of 'getting things done' (cycling and foraging) and enjoyment (picnic, ice cream, cycling!). :-)

What a wonderful day out. What do you do with the Haws? Love the two sculptures.

Today is cold and mean here, too. But you did remind me of my kids and I, bike rides to ice cream.

Susan I have made crabapple and haw jelly before , and crabapple and Rowan too. They could be added mixed berries for a cordial.

Great images here. That thing you have certainly does a great job. And wonderful icecream at the end too. Lovely. xx
