Neighbours, sadness

Our neighbour is having problems with a gang of kids throwing stones at his house..they have already broken his back door window...

We helped mend his back boundary with planks to restore the fence, and he brought two farm gates from work.

He is a farm labourer, in his late 50s, a gentle giant with no enemies who will help anyone.  He has worked at the farm in the village he is from, some two miles away, since before he left school, helping on the farm and with their milk round.  He has lived in his house here for twenty years.

Now they have started kicking his front door...

He works seven days a week, from 10.30 until 7 at least...he loves his job and the animals there. No longer a dairy farm but still cattle and sheep and fodder crops.

The kids are aged between about 10 to 15 years..so the police can only warn and advise their parents...when they find the right ones..and no-one can lay a finger on them.

So what is a group of a dozen kids doing around between 8 and 9pm every night, out in the dark? Apart from up to no good?

Next step is a wildlife camera to catch images of the "wildlife"....

As you can see this tablet would be of no use.

That is awful - what a shame - we have had problems in the village with kids from a neighbouring town, fortunately the police have been good and have rounded them up - taken them home to their respective parents and made them aware what is going on - so far so good, long may it last - hope your neighbour's problems are sorted soon x

I do hope the culprits are located. This poor man!

I hope he gets a camera and a good photo but will anything happen to the young "darlings".

I despair, I really do. What a lovely gentle giant of a man must feel is just outside of most people’s understanding. This sadly is the way the world is going. Can your community come together to help?

We had similar problems at our last house (which eventually led to moving about 20 years ago). We lived on a corner, in a close and about a dozen kids would kick a football around in the road and against the cars. We had a glass front door and that was smashed - luckily I got the culprit and saw his father, who paid for the repair.

I was sitting in the side garden one day when a ball was being repeatedly banged off the wooden board fence. After about 2o minutes of this I went and asked the banger to go around the corner about 200 yards and play on the playing field. About 12, his reply was, "make me".

We gave up and decided to move!

That's horrible. What is wrong with people? And where are the parents?!

And how have the parents raised their "darling children"?

One troublemaker and followers, most likely. Hooligans. Camera trap and motion sensor lights, at least they are a lot cheaper these days.

Poor guy, to have bullies at this time of life.

The parents? Probably doing the same themselves when they were young....
First step is a large security light. Neither of us can afford a camera yet...or front garden gates, and a fence for us. Last night they hid behind our car in our front garden....
