Snowy walk

There is still some snow lying, and underfoot it ranges from icy solid to flaggy mud..but it was enjoyable.. although a bit long.. two hours! We caught the break in the weather and it restarted snowing as we arrived home for lunch.

It has continued showering all afternoon, alternating wet sleet with big fluffy flakes..but it doesn't appear to be sticking.

This afternoon's job was researching bike bits and their value, as pirate cleaned the next ones...I will list them tomorrow.

And joy of joys I had sale on Etsy! A small saltglaze footed cup for whisky and a wee jug for water...both saltglaze.  All packed up and ready to go.

We had a blizzard over night and this morning we woke up to quite deep snow - it was treacherous trying to get out of the village! Ready for spring now. And I do mean NOW! haha

Do you know what the old building used to be?

The old building was a mill, Millmannoch means middle mill. There has been one there since the 12 or 1300s, the present one was built in the 1700s and adapted in 1904 I think. There is a page on it in Wikipedia.
It closed in 1973 at about the time one of the Millers sons emigrated to Canada.
It is a listed building, and they researched restoring it in the 1980s..as it would cost a fortune they didn't. It suffered vandalism and a fire, and now just stands.

I forgot to come back and look for your answer! What a lovely direction I've wandered off on today! Thank you for that link. As always, I'm astounded by your lengthy history. My country has one too, but unfortunately, it is lost, being largely unwritten, the stories left untold.

Bird houses on the tree going up, that's neat, a good home for them over winter.

Not bird houses...fungi! Might be bird food though
