Yes. The big block has a name I don't remember, then borders and nine patch "place holders". Go for it.

I like the pattern. Would you use the same colors?
I immediately thought of a Roman mosaic. Go for it. Then perhaps, when you have got your teeth into that one, how about making a copy of the York "Four Seasons" mosaic :
