A successful day off

Late morning coffee and biscuits with friends in the Stinchar Valley.. marvelous to catch-up and relax.

Then another ten miles up to the middle of nowhere....and friends we haven't seen for well over three years!

They moved to their home three years ago...it had been empty for nearly 20 years, built about 1900 with adjoining store rooms and a double height barn with stone outside steps to his joinery.  He is making a special bench for Pirate.

They have ten acres of land including marsh and ponds, and are now planting fruit trees to go with the established plum and apple trees.

Heaven!!

We had coffee in mugs that they had bought from me years ago...now there is incentive to make more!!

We got talking woodburning stoves, and I mentioned that I was looking for a small secondhand one...which they had!!! Result!!! I paid them what they paid for it, and they gave me enough double skinned stainless flue to go with it!!!!

All that, and Pirate rode part of the way home and enjoyed an hour on the bike in the sun before it got too cold.

A very good day!

What is the structure in the center of the picture? Land or structure?
