Autumn and help

Our Fifer friend is over for a couple of days.

He is good company and inspiration for Pirate...so my workshop is clearer of other people's stuff, thanks to both of them.

He has identified some of the bike bits I have to sell, a great help. While they were busy I pruned out the thornless bramble canes that had fruited this year and picked the ripe pinto bean pods to finish drying in the greenhouse.

Today we had lunch out, trying a local café at a fishery, and had a post lunch walk in Hannahston to pick up windfall apples for juicing..then as Pirate had a siesta we cleared and cleaned the garden paths.

The house now looks definitely cared for and lived in!

Now to watch tonight's rugby final....

Glad you're having an inspirational visitor! I usually prune brambles in late winter. By then the canes that have fruited are dead and they're easy to tell from the newer ones.
