Storm Pia

This was the scene just after 8am this morning...

Vehicles have been overturned by the wind, bridges restricted and train services suspended ....

It now looks a little brighter, with blue sky patches showing through, but the clouds are moving space..we are having guests up to 50 mph as the Mull of Kintyre shelters us somewhat. Friends in the far Northeast had 85mph guests early this morning.
Not good, but apparently Denmark will be feeling the full brunt of this as it swirls around all of Europe.

No going out today...we missed a delivery today as we'd gone to Glasgow...we had told the sender that we wouldn't be here, but.....and as it is a bottle of whisky, we have to receive it...so we are sitting here kicking our heels.
Or rather I am, as Pirate is having a nap!!!
When is the delivery scheduled? Sometime before 10pm.....
All this made us forget a reflexology appointment...but thankfully that has been moved back and not charged for.
As soon as the offending article is delivered....or Pirate wakes up...I can get on with Beetroot chutney and pickling. The last of the crop was lifted a couple of days ago and the rain has made a good job of washing the earth off the beets!

Pirate has now chosen to go for further treatment... hopefully this will go ok...within the next three months. It won't get rid of Charlie...but it should make his life easier and less painful. The sooner the better.
It is getting him down...and the weather isn't helping, day after sodden windy day.

I did not know we were having a named storm, but it's pretty gusty down here too. (Nothing like what you're getting, I'm sure.) I hope Pirate's treatments go well and he gets some relief.

...I hope that you are having a good despite the weather!

Your weather is just awful! Here's hoping Pirate gets some relief from treatment.

I hope the new treatment goes well. That weather sounds enough to dampen anyone's spirits.

Hope your delivery arrived, the beetroot chutney has been made, and you & Pirate are snug & warm.
Happy Winter Solstice!

Best wishes for Pirate to see some easing in his struggle. The chutney sounds like a good remedy for almost anything but especially cold nasty winds and rainy days. Happy Solstice.

I hadn't heard about this storm. Stay safe and I hope that parcel shows up.

Ah! Pirate's has a name too. Mine are called Wilson, Keppel and Betty.

This weather never helps. Oh well, the days become longer now.

having treatment sounds like a good idea and I hope it goes well. I wouldn't want to get up at all with weather like that waiting outside!

Well I can say it was not that bad down south where we are, though I did see trees were down in the midlands

Wow. another storm? You've been hammered! I hope that the treatment eases things for Pirate, which will ease things for you, as well. Merry Christmas to you and Victor, Gwynneth.

Best wishes & hopes for Pirate's treatment.
Wishing you & Pirate a Merry Christmas!

Tasker it helps doesn't it.
Not that they are friends, but they are someone we know.
It started with my daughter in law and her ovarian cyst....

The storm looks very powerful. Hopefully, it starts to ease soon and does not leave much damage. Treatments to ease or solve a problem can be beneficial. I'm happy for you both and your decision. Happy Christmas. Enjoy.
