Keep on walking

 Into the new year!

After my daily half-hour on the turbo trainer and lunch, we went out for a walk around Hannahston, our local nature reserve.

It was rather wet and muddy, unsurprisingly, but it was good to get out in a brief respite from the rain.. although everything was rather chill and damp.

Two spotted woodpeckers..hard to see as had I got and nearer, by leaving the hide, they would have flown away. After they have pecked at the peanuts, the other smaller birds move in to eat.

A buzzard on the prowl...all the gulls and jackdaws and crows moved on quickly!
And a perch for humans!!
Owl box

Bat boxed

Now just putting our feet up and relaxing.

Good on you for going walking in the rain.

Happy New Year! The Nature Reserve makes a wonderful place for walking and observing wildlife. I love all the nesting boxes and your photo has inspired me to install a few behind my house. The bird feeding station is impressive with a very nice shingled roof. I agree entirely...keep walking and be well.

Looks very very wintery there, you're right to put your feet up and relax, sounds like hibernating time. Hope you had a lovely Christmas and a happy new year to you.

Glad you both managed a walk. We are just about to set off on one.

We had to get out too - fortunately we had a break in the weather and we managed to borrow a dog to drag us round on our walk.
Happy New Year to you both x
