New Year beginning

on Sunday Pirate had an hour on the Velodrome..and Bro was showing me how to do panoramic shots on my phone camera! The Velodrome visit was a first for him
Coming out, we saw a Glasgow dusk.

More firsts yesterday as Bro had never seen the Falkirk Wheel or the Kelpies

And what better idea than meet our Fife friend at the Wheel for lunch!
They were fortunate to see the lift turn once, as the basin has been drained and they are busy doing maintenance on the mechanism

Then to Falkirk Stadium for Bro to recharge his van...and just under a mile and a half walk through Helix Park to the Kelpies

We will have to return during daytime for his next visit so that we may see the exhibition on the history of the sculptures.

It was very fortunate that the washing machine died while he was here...I bought a new one (my first new one for over twenty years...the last was secondhand eight years ago). His van was very handy to go and get the new machine..saving £45...he installed it..saving £30...and this morning he headed for home with not only the old machine, but also the redundant worthless gas cooker..which he can take to the council cowp by him for free..saving us £60!!

Today has been nice and dry for a change..after heavy rain last night made everywhere absolutely sodden..so catch up on washing to try the new machine, reflexology to relax and revive, and more tweaking of Pirate's meds.

Hopefully we will hear from the hospital department next week...

...my cell phone changes from photo to who knows what by magic. I'm glad that your problem had a silver lining. Enjoy the new year.

Sounds like not only an enjoyable visit from your brother but a profitable one with the money saved.

What an enjoyable visit...glad you got into one of the photos! I have a relative who delights in our Scottish roots and would love to visit the Kelpies. Your brother gave you many gifts of his services which saved a bit of money!

Great to see Pirate out and about. And you, of course. It's great also to have a good friend who saved you lots of money. I absolutely LOVE the Kelpies.

I saw the Kelpies and the Falkirk Wheel a couple of years ago. A very fun visit for us. You must be so relieved to be rid of the old appliances and saving money to boot!

The Kelpies are on my 'to see' list.
I love how camera phones allow you to play - here is to seeing more panoramic photos!
