We had a little sunshine this morning, so went for a walk with my bro.
Without Pirate we had a brisker longer walk....our local lane walk out of the village and back...was two ( derelict) mills but Mill o' Shield farmhouse was demolished a few months ago...the mill went many years ago.
A pleasant hour out in the fresh air...and we saw the results of excessive speed...
Had they been a little to the right they would have been end on to the "sitting bench"...a good four foot diameter three metre plus long tree trunk.
Back for lunch...and the much mended washing machine will no longer spin, just sits there turning the washing over slowly....it was second-hand nearly eight years ago.....so I ordered a new one !!!!!
We are just waiting for the email confirming that we may collect it.
Starting the year with a bold and positive move!!

...keep it up.
Our last washing machine did the same - the spin slipped into a gentle roll and the washing came out dripping wet - like yours it was well used and aged, our new one has a spin of spins - made us realise how much our old one was just rolling about :)
Good job on the washer. Mine has been taken apart and repaired multiple times. I am pretty sure we got it second hand. When we move, we are buying new. I am pretty sure this is simply because it would be a bear to get the old stuff out of the basement.
Unfortunately, the new ones don't last like they used to. Too much tech. The main motherboards do. Who wants an internet-connected washing machine anyway?
A good washing machine is essential! How did that car wind up in the field, but OVER the hedge? It doesn't look like the hedge is damaged at all.
Wishing you a Happy New Year from rainy No. California! x
Look at the dark bit of the hedge, Steve....looks like it's not the first one through there..the bottom half of it has an old iron bed head there, looks like the car was airborne going through the hedge.....
Nothing like new appliances to start off a new year!

^ that’s a picture of a washing machine from above. :)
Good on ya!
What a lovely walk. I am glad the speeder was long gone. Sorry about your washer and I hope the new one lasts. Happy New Year.
My best washer was used and abused daily and lasted more than 25 years. It only quit in the end because the repairman broke a part that could no longer be replaced. So he came out and fixed it for free every time it quit.
Good on both counts - new washing machine and a walk.
WOW! I think of your area as rural and easy going, but I guess there are crazy drivers the world around.
New washer; new year! Think of all the lovely, clean clothes you will have.
We are still using a washer we bought very cheap from a friend about twenty +++ years ago. We were planning on redoing the laundry area and didn't want to spend a lot of money........still planning.....🤭
Wishing you and Pirate a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!
Oh, yes, I see it now!
Washing machines these days just don't seem to last very long like the ones do.
