Marsh marigolds
Young beech leaves, just the right time to make Noyeau
Wood anemones..did you say them as Wooden Enemies first?!
Gean..wild cherry blossom
Blackthorn...hoping for sloes
Celandines
Not sure what this is called....Garlic mustard?
I was pleased that our usual walk still only took an hour... after such a long break I thought I would have been slower.
Then yesterday I acquired a "new" lawnmower for £10.....
Paperwork proceeds slowly...but Pirate is now accepted by the Glasgow medical school for research... carrying on helping folks as he did throughout his life.
I have the unenviable job of searching through his papers for photos and matters for a display and for use in a printed item...his Celebration day in Kent is in just under a month...so I need to get on with RSVPs....and up here we are arranging his usual big birthday ride...which he had every five years!
He had been aiming to have a Possee party in Kent in May, then his birthday celebrations....just a pity that he ended in a rush and couldn't make these in person..but his spirit will be there at both.

What a gift Pirate gives with that bequeathment. Meanwhile, each day follows another... YAM xx
Great wildflowers! Good looking little mower too. Yes there are so many things involved in celebrating your Pirate's life. So glad to hear there's going to be research based on him.
Celandines and Garlic mustard are invasive plants here. Take care and be well.
I use to have one of those push lawnmowers GZ. The grass is good for mulching vegetables.
What a beautiful place to live. That mower is pretty awesome, never saw one like that. Sorry about the paperwork. It seems never-ending, I know.
Pirate will live on in many ways.
I wanted to donate my body for medical research when I am gone but that's not possible here. No storage facilities.
Thanks for the reminder Dave...next lot will go on the garlic rows!
I remember how the paperwork seemed depressingly never-ending when I have had to handle it. But a little bit at a time sees it through.
It does Tasker..but the Tell it Once system is brilliant..and I am steadily ticking off other places and subscriptions to deal with...mobile phone and TV licence tomorrow.
His driving licence renewal form arrived today, so at least I know the number...but where he put it I don't know...not in the usual place anyway!
Plus we have a brilliant solicitor
Looks like a lovely walk with all those spring blossoms. Good that Pirate is able to keep giving through medical research. My late sister-in-law who had Parkinson's Disease went to great trouble so that her brain could be used for medical research only to die on a Holiday Weekend when her doctor couldn't be located. As everything had to be done quickly it was unable to go ahead. Just glad she didn't know about it.
The new mower sounds great. Exercise and a mown lawn.
Your walk featured many nice plants thriving naturally in the wild. Administrative details are many but slowly everything gets completed. Bringing people together to celebrate Pirate will be lovely gatherings for all. Medical research is important and one day we hope more cures will be found. You found a great lawn mower at a bargain price.
How good of Pirate to go to science. Thanks for telling us.
Your plants are so different to ours They’re beautiful in different ways to the Aussie bush
Your pirate is a beautiful soul
I really liked the wildflowers.
How much a person can offer even after death is admirable.
Kudos to you for being strong!
We are given strength.
Have a nice day!
The plans for celebrating Pirate's life are beautiful. It's good to see your posts continue. Betty

So nice that Pirates wish to go to research will be honoured. His birthday ride will be a happy/sad event. After losing my husband hubby 4 years ago the most upsetting thing for me is the phonecalls he keeps getting soliciting funds. I think the hospital sells lists of patients numbers. I still get those calls even though I ask for his name to be removed. Look after yourself every day. Gigi
A celebration, a birthday ride, and medical research—that’s a great trio for carrying Pirate’s memory forward. ❤️
Good score on the lawnmower.
People drive cars to fitness centers and pay $$$ to workout with machinery that could be useful work like that
– – carrying heavy things, pushing or dragging heavy things…
Gigi we have a Tell it All service that notified all sorts of bodies officially...and a Bereavement Register to ensure that we don't get junk mail or calls.
Lovely to see the greenery and flowers blooming.
Wonderful ways to celebrate the joy of Pirate's life.
Wishing you all the very best.....suzi/smartcat (because blog may make me anonymous!)
That's very generous of Pirate to give his body to science. I know nothing about the paperwork that needs completion when someone dies, so it's interesting to hear about the Tell It All service. It must be bittersweet to walk the same routes now.
How many Prince of Wales pubs are there? I Googled and found another one in Kennington and the food there looks wonderful.
Pirate: the gift that keeps on giving. I'd been looking for more about him from you and was glad but sad to read this. I miss the old rascal though I never had any contact with him. I'm sure your days since he left have been sad but I was glad to see you're continuing on with your walks and your nearly constant work. Keep on keepin' on!
I'm glad you're paying attention to flowers (life).
I do like the lawnmower. I think that both the tribute Pirate gave in donating for science AND the tribute you and others give in terms of gathering speak volumes. Look after yourself.
