It is so hard to get the colours right...what we see is not always what the camera sees...like the delicate light blues at the horizon.
I tried tweaking another shot
But that didn't work, really.
All that lasted only a few minutes before turning to grey clouds..
Quickly put the wheelie bins out, and the collections came earlier than usual...not surprised with the forthcoming Weather.
By the time I was on the bus heading for town a little before 10, the sky was really dark and the rain came down...and then the drops on the bus windscreen were more splatty than splashy...
Fortunately it was just a heavy shower and like yesterday I didn't get wet in town.
Large cheque paid in, time to relax and celebrate with long black and a brownie at my favourite spot in town
Waterstones bookshop café....and I may have bought a book on the way out..
Duolingo French may be a good start, but a pocket dictionary and basic Useful French is a good addition!!
I bought a bottle of Milton before heading for the bus...the only place I'd found it was boots the chemist...I'd asked in a pharmacy nearby and the assistant had no idea what it was! It is produced for sterilising babys' bottles..and does very well for bike bottles and smoothie bottles.
Back home for lunch , soup from the freezer...and take the vacuum cleaner for a "walk" around the house!!
By 3pm it was looking more like nearly 4pm...
Curtains shut, cuppa, mince pie...get the house warm in case we have a power cut....

...stay warm and well.
I use Miltons for all sorts ... soaking my toothbrush heads is the main one.
Let's hope we are all still intact tomorrow!
So nice to browse around a good bookstore!
It sure is frustrating to want to share beautiful soft colors, and the camera just doesn't go there!
My younger daughter is 14 (nearly 15!) and sometime between my 25 year old and her birth the powers that be decided that Milton wasn't required any more. We still have some beneath the kitchen bench. When I had BC, the surgeon advised to beware, as the special dye that they use to find the nodes will also turn your wee blue - and your boobs - it can even turn your face blue. She tried to take a photo of a patient's face to show her once, but the phone camera kept autocorrecting the colour.
Your days are definitely getting shorter. At least it’s winter and supposed to be dark and stormy. It’s nine in the morning right now and we have a dark stormy sky outside.
I used to use denture cleaning tablets in hubbys thermos when he drove trucks. He had been rinsing and saying it’s fine. The first time I used the tablet it was terrible what came out! Really did a fantastic job
The soft pink and blue colors in the sky are lovely.
A warm/cozy bookshop with a cafe sounds ideal.
Stay safe with the storm coming. Keep the candles ready, just in case of power outage.
I have yet to hear TV weather people referring to "splatty" and "splashy" rain but I have heard one say, "Tomorrow it's going to piss it down!"
My vacuum and I took a stroll as well.
Do power cuts happen often there?
Ah, we revel in the phrase for pissing it down in Welsh.."pistillio bwrw glaw" 😆
Not in this village...but it is 3-4000 so it has a better supply than our previous two villages which were far more rural and smaller...and we had a woodburner as an alternative...
I can see why that might be your favorite stop -- a great cafe in a bookstore, you can't beat it! I hope you can stay in and cozy, with warm soup and that new book. I hear there's a big storm brewing in the UK, so stay safe, dry and warm!
We are still getting strong wind gusts here. I know what you mean about the camera not seeing what our eyes see. It can be particularly tricky with sunsets and sunrises, I've found.
Ah, coffee, brownie, books...all good things for she who deserves them! Catching up on your posts, so reading up to your big storm post, which I am sure I will find. That storm.was something else.
