I had an appointment with a Physio who is also a sports scientist...he has worked for the NHS after qualifying....and was physio for Rangers football team.....and he rides a bike as well..just a mountain bike at the moment...and runs.
Completely different to the NHS physiotherapist assessment...she wasn't hands on, only talked about my ankle and didn't want my socks off....gave me the exercises and said I could be referred to a local hospital physiotherapist in a couple of months.....
He dealt with the whole me.
Learnt my history...then sorted my back, got my hips aligned properly. He likened it to a builder putting a good foundation down first....then treated my shoulder and my ankle and feet.....
And I have three exercises to do...one is for my shoulder...
Well over half an hour, £55 for first appointment...worth every penny.
I haven't done much since getting home as the gales rolled in again.
Just some reading.
I went in a couple of shops before my appointment....the usual Xmas Musak... including Elvis Presley singing "Blue Christmas". And "First Christmas without you" Hmm.

A good physio is worth his weight in gold alright. The first holiday without a loved one is always the most difficult, I find. Everything seems extra poignant.
...some are better than others!
Your physio sounds ideal and you do appear to have benefited from his expert touch by the sound of it.
Oh those Christmas songs can really hit where it hurts sometimes.
Just knitting.
Listening to the rain.
Can not bear to hear any more dreadfully jolly christmas music - it certainly does NOT 'enhance the shopping experience'
Glad your physio seems to be more hands on - hope it helps
I’m so happy he treated the whole of you. Many in the healing world just look at one special place Doctors have failed to diagnose serious issues by doing that. A good health professional is definitely worth their weight in gold
The Physio sounds excellent. Working with someone that wants to solve the problem(s) is always appreciated. Anything less is a waste of your time and theirs.
Great that you have a really good physiotherapist.
Physio therapy is worth every penny.
I have never heard of physiotherapy. It sounds amazing.
That sounds like a perfect physio. I'm glad you've found the right person. That first Christmas is a tough one, I think. All the sad Christmas songs seem to stick out even more and everyone is so merry. I hope you can find some joy in your wonderful friendships over the holiday. Big hugs.
It is such a relief when you get a medical person of any ilk look at the whole of you rather than the symptom tick and out the door.
It has taken me a full 50 years of adulthood to arrive at an understanding and appreciation of a good physiotherapist (and found her a mere month before departing UK.) I hope you get much better use out of your precious find.
