Day 3 walk from the Coeur du Temple to the Cathédrale

Backwards photos of course! This is the administrative building for Nouvelle Aquitaine.

The Hôtel de Ville...or Mairie.,the Mayor's building for Limoges. Practically all the municipal planting around the centre is edible plants, flowers, shrubs, trees ..

Gorgeous and I love it. One of my visits to France years ago was in the season that crysanths flower - they seemed to have developed a variety that trailed, had them growing from upstairs window boxes and trailing all the way towards ground floor. I think of them when I see formal administrative buildings in French town squares.

The thing about old towns and cities like this one is that they were built when care was taken to make the buildings beautiful, and able to stand for centuries. Not so with most modern architecture.
