Yesterday's work got painted this afternoon.
This morning was quiet as two doors up had a funeral..no, not that...she had dementia, and had been smoking herself to death apparently...the only thing she could remember how to do.
Very sad.
It is cold..that frost nipped the edges of many things inside the polytunnel..and yet the sun is hot. The wind is strong and northerly. And still it is dry. We have had record wet February.
A record hot and dry April. May?????

We've had a few deaths in the village - normal age related demises, but due to the restrictions preventing the usual wake and gatherings, on our village FB page puts a call out, naming the deceased and notifying when their funeral will be and as many folk as possible stand at their front doors and nod or clap as the funeral cortege goes by. A small touch we can offer to a grieving family
That is sad although with dementia and her cigarettes I expect she was happy.
A nice purple paint.
It will be interesting to see what May brings weather wise won't it? It has been a bit mixed so far, but definitely a bit cooler.
Susan it didn't appear so...she was a very grumpy person...and her brother who lives over the fence at the bottom of our garden is still a grumpy so-and-so!!
If you have dementia, why NOT smoke?!
Steve as our neighbour over the road has found with looking after his wife who smokes and has dementia...where the cigarette gets put down...and forgotten.. can be critical. She used to light her cigarette at the gas hob, then leave that on with things close by...he has changed the cooking to electric.
He is basically housebound as she refuses to leave the house even with him in his car and needs keeping an eye on as well as care.
Its hard work for him looking after someone who looks like someone he knew..but is no longer someone he knew
Vodka is good for dementia days too.
That is so darkly funny, and I mean that with compassion. She didn't know where or when she was, but she had a smoke, so it was fine. Rather like this spring, hot and cold together.
Husband got grumpier and grumpier as the dementia took over. It's unsettling and exhausting... I don't think it really makes anyone the life and soul of the party.
