I might make two of this one, one with just the central trio of maize stalks.
On to the next one. I think I will build up a few before inking, to save on washing the roller, block and slab between each one.
I forgot to reverse the image on the block..tracing then lots of rubbing out!! Followed by putting the design on again.
Thinking through what is black/white is a challenge.

Years since I did a linocut or an etching (that really is long time ago) - there used to be an excellent printers' cooperative in Bath; a great shared facility.
Your last bit about forgetting to reverse the image struck a chord, a while back I painstakingly carved a very elaborate K stamp to use on my work. I spent ages and I was super delighted with it. Inked it up and carefully stamped a piece of paper to see the end result .......... it went into the bin.

Many years ago when I was finishing my degree I had to take printmaking. One required hand setting type. Learning to see in reverse is an ability I have never lost. Not quite sure what that says about my brain! 🤭
I can imagine that it would be hard to figure out which surfaces should be raised and lowered. Kind of like looking at a photographic negative!
I think the smaller blocks would be even more difficult, the whole process much more exacting.
