Back "home"

We are now in Whanganui..and it feels like we are home again.

Caught up with many friends, Pirate joined in a spin session, and there is a Christmas party tonight!

We stay with our friends at the Hikurangi Stayplace..a converted old people's home with an interesting history.  An affordable and welcoming place if you are on your travels...surrounded by trees and relatively quiet, but close to everything.

We were welcomed by the Tūi calling as we arrived!!

Mostly it has been showery weather since we arrived! So no chance of much walking.

We hope to collect our borrowed bikes any day now.

Our coach and his riders following a spin session on a video..the walls are covered with memorabilia, photos and news cuttings

More rain....we have had some bright sunny periods, I managed to mostly dry a huge bagful of washing, timing line time between heavy showers!!

Thanks for visiting my blog and leaving a comment. It's still cold and snowy here with temps down to -9C at night.

You sound to be enjoying it so much it leads me to ask why did you leave and come back. Were you from here originally. You are certainly missing a very cold spell of weather.

I hope you get some dry weather to be out and about soon.

Weave we are both from Britain..but are too old to stay here, so the only choice is to keep visiting where we feel at home and love.

Well done YOU!!!! Drying laundry between showers is surely witchcraft!

There are certain places that call to us and feel like home even though in our present life times there are not connections - Home for me is where my hat (or other half) is! enjoy the rest of your adventures and stay there where it is warm x
