Bricks

 In a church perimeter wall...



The darker bricks were fired to a higher temperature.

You can see some original mortar, but it also has unfortunately been repointed with cement, which doesn't let the wall breathe or dry naturally.

At least it does have a protective cap.

Ah, the clay knowledgeable person can speak well of these bricks. The colors mixed together is definitely more artistic than just all the same in row upon row.

You know about bricks and how they work. Very little brickwork here in western Canada.

It looks like a very old wall. I wonder when it was built.
