A day of two halves

We had a beautiful sunny morning, with the intention of going for a walk....but I got "chatting" to my daughter by message...

Then we had a flying visit from half of the Ayr Burners clubrun!!!

It was great to see them and chat...

By then it was definitely time to head out with the plan to pick up the paper and a picnic lunch and go for a flat walk...

The weather gods had other ideas....not even a chance of ten minutes walk in a break....it started gently and didn't let up...eight hours later as I write it is still raining outside.....

So picnic in the car, in a layby, looking over at Arran...and Goat Fell in the clouds..down to Girvan...still raining....and home up the Girvan Valley on the lower road.

Still, we did have a nice "tiki tour" even if was with a tin overcoat!! Better than just sitting indoors.

It sounds like a visit with your biking friends made a very enjoyable day. You have a great community of friends. The rain is frequent lately and we are all looking forward to warmth, sunshine and less rain. Susan in chilly but no rain today, Massachusetts.

This sounds awful, but I've realised it's best not to get distracted by being sociable. I'm determined to have a 2 mile walk every day. We had visitors as I was getting ready. I went anyway. Keeping fit when you are ill takes priority over being sociable. It turned out that if I hadn't gone then I would not have got a walk that day. If people don't like it, tough.

...it's difficult to control the weather.

As you say, it is good to get out even if you couldn't have a walk.

That's the way the weather is often not a friend so it's valuable when it is. Have a nice week!

Anytime you can. Get out of the house is a good time I say.
We haven’t had much rain lately. We definitely need some. Send it our way if you can please

Unexpected visitors can lift the spirits. I agree with Tasker, though, that it's important to prioritise your exercise requirements.

Tin overcoat! That made me laugh. How nice that the cycling club stopped by. That must have been tremendously cheering for Pirate! And yes. Getting out of the house, even on a rainy day is good.

Even though you did not get your sunny walk it sounds like you had some good visits both virtually and in person.
Not sure how or why it's working this way, but lately we appear to be experiencing the same weather patterns!🤭
Yesterday was lovely, I even managed to begin deck clean-up. Woke up to rain, just enough to be annoying. Supposed to get heavier later in the day.

Wonderful to have visit from all those biker friends! I guess getting out was the main purpose, not so much the walk itself, though that would have been nice for your both. Love the tin overcoat!

We are in drought here, so rain sounds good – – but not if it stops outdoors exercise. Smart of you to picnic in the car anyway!

Nice of your pals to come by to visit with Pirate, even if it did interfere with your planned walk.

I used to live in Northern Ireland where the weather sounds rather similar - or at least there was always a lot of rain. Then I moved to Malta, which was certainly a contrast, weather wise!!
