Is today, the 15th of April.
His good mate..his "wee bro" ...almost exactly 20 years younger..with whom he often shared birthday celebrations....and who took him to Brisbane for a month just before we married....
Came here for a day...just talking, remembering good times and history and escapades and laughing and smiles.....and bearing coffee and oatcakes!!
Just what we both needed...he hadn't long lost one of his real brothers...
And lunch out in a nearby village community hub that has a café , after a walk around Hannahston nature reserve by our village here.
And new card blanks and envelopes and cellophane envelopes arrived in the post.... onwards and upwards.
Doing things that Pirate rightly said that I should be doing....
It feels like he is just around the corner, keeping an eye out.....

Ah, a very poignant day filled with love.
Lovely for you both to have that catch up and good to hear Pirate feels close.
It sounds like a wonderful day for both (the three) of you.
I'm so very glad you two had each other for this day. Those can grab at the gut and it's always better when share. As for keeping an eye out? I'm sure he's right there.
It's a nice thing to think that perhaps he is. Nice of his friend to stop by, and with refreshments too!
Such anniversaries are not easy. I am glad you had someone to share the day with you.
Such a good remembrance of your dear Pirate, as well as having someone else who enjoyed sharing memories with you. Indeed, just listening and echoing your laughs, I'm sure.
Nice that you and Pirate's friends celebrated him today!
Massive hugs coming your way. I’m glad you had completely for the day and were able to remember the good times

It's great that Pirate's "wee bro" was able to stop by and you could both connect with each other on this significant day.
