Day 3 Musée des Beaux Arts, Limoges

New paving....just like Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow!.…but with added archaeology ...
beautiful enamelled street signs. I like the way that both old and new signs, when you have a street named after a person it generally adds what they were famous for....

A fabulous set of photos. When I was lucky to have a morning in Limoges there was only time for the cathedral and gardens. Only wish I'd had time to discover the Musee de Beaux Arts too.

How funny that L'email in French translates to 'enamel'. I was trying to work things out and that one did not work. I did have a good read about the enameling process, though. That streetsign? Is it the crossroad of the green grocers or oil there a family called Du Verdurier?

That picture of long hall of doors is quite striking!

Oh, it really is called "Eat Salad" -- in English! I thought that was just the translation of the name.

Love the gargoyle!

some interesting parquet. A friend of mine bought a home in a small steep Mediaeval village outside Limoges some years ago. Unfortunately we lost contact and I wonder if she still lives in that lovely region
