A quiet day

 Bike fettling...

Beetroot and apple winterspice chutney making....should have made more last autumn!

Tidy study table too..and slightly tidier shed.

The sun appeared through the clouds and in shelter it was good spring sunshine, but the wind was still bitterly cold.

Looking forward to the end of April when it may be ok to travel within most of Scotland...who knows when it will be ok to travel further south as the stats are not as good as here.

Lovely to meet you - my son has revised my blog list as I accidentally wiped it off - and you have appeared on it. I am a farmer's widow (4 years this weekend) and ateacher's widow 39 years first marriage and 23 second marriage - I am in my late eighties and live in Wensleydale. I am myself a retired Head of a Language Unit and thenlater Senior Mistress in a large midlands comprehensive. I look forward to contact with you - chutney sounds good.

Beetroot and apple sounds very Autumn/Winter-ish but yummy

I love the colour of your Chutney, it looks really appetising. No doubt it tastes as good too!

I arrived here via Weaver's blog list but can't emulate her interesting life.
Fettling is a lovely word
Thanks? to lockdown I've too have a cupboard full of jams, jellies and chutneys including an beetroot and apple maturing so yet to be tested.
Hopefully the barriers between England and Scotland will be lifted as half my family are far north of the wall whilst I am almost as far south of it as you can go.
I look forward to future visits with you

Beetroot chutney is new to me - Jane used to crave beetroot when she was pregnant; she'd have bought the lot!

Beautiful looking chutney, and I'm sure it will be enjoyed for months! Hope you all carry on as weather may finally get better!

Yeah, I haven't heard much about when travel restrictions are to be lifted. We're still being told to stay local. But in April the shops and pubs are due to open so perhaps regional travel will be part of that? No idea.

Your preserves look very nice. I'd never thought of that particular pairing of fruit. Your Pirate looks a very happy soul.

Never heard of that variety of chutney. I know someone in Dorset who makes incredible carrot chutney though so I would probably be willing to try the recipe if you care to post it.
