Afternoon mountain wander

working dog!

You're 1600 feet above sea level in the middle of nowhere....

We decided that the road surface was a bit too rough from here on!

But the woman driving the parcel company van thought otherwise...she was coming up from the other side...and not hanging about either!!

We saw someone on a gravel bike going the other way.....and after we turned back, saw a runner on his way too!

We started from Pen y Fan pond, an old reservoir with seats and a cafe and car park, not far from the village where Carpenter and family live...most importantly going there by car cuts out a considerable hill!!

Did you ride up the hills or get off and walk?

Ho what good pictures, if we in NZ believed what our tourism told us, we are kidding ourselves, they are some good views and to be doing it by cycle is pretty neat.
In 1990 I cycled up the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal then across Wales and up through Ireland to the Grand Canal, I had forgotten how good it was.

Weave, the Carpenter lives above the Ebbw valley...we drove further up from the village to an old reservoir where people walk..then rode higher up on a small road!

I love how farm dogs 'balance' on the backs of ATVs - they seem to enjoy doing it :)
