Devauchelle and camping ground

Our friends in Tai Tapu had friends staying, so we went further out on the Banks Peninsula to Devauchelle..like Akaroa, a French settlement.

By there I had had enough of driving...and 7km up a steep twisty road followed by 7km down was enough!! Akaroa is 10km further over three more hills!!

That is the view from our cabin in the really good council run campground..the road goes by that white building halfway up the hill....and over the shoulder behind it!!!!

We could have stayed there for a few days...a good price and brilliant facilities and as usual efficient and relaxed.

I have not been to Banks Peninsular yet although with those winding roads I may be best to skip it.
