Eilean Arrain....the Isle of Arran

Seen from the mainland...one evening from Ayr Beach, another afternoon from Culzean Castle.

We must get over there soon. I have never been there.

Those are wonderful photos. With no people in the frame it looks like a haunted, deserted isle.

Weather permitting, I can gaze doon the watter frae the Hutch's windies and gaze upon Hunterston, Cumbrae and Arran (and all between here and there)... and have often wondered why I have not visited these places. Perhaps I can persuade The Grey to turn its wheels there... YAM xx

Wonderful evening photographs.

How very beautiful. I have a sister named Eileen. It's interesting that it is so close to 'eilean'. She's very isolated, so it suits.

I still remember how inviting the island looked from the mainland when I had a cycling holiday up there many years ago. Like you I've never made it over there.
