Short day

Pirate didn't feel like getting up this morning...which actually isn't doing himself any good as he needs daylight and also.to eat little and often.

So today didn't get off on the right footing.

We thought, Cletwr...the community café and shop in Tre'r Ddôl, two villages north, for a late lunch....no kitchen Monday or Tuesday as they have a staff shortage...

Coffee cake and shopping it was then.

On to Machynlleth and we missed the lunchtime menu at Ty Medi café...

We had a wander around the town and picked up a couple of secondhand books and a small.model elephant as a thankyou present for a friend. We found a proper cobbler whose wife is a shoemaker.

Then shopped at the co-op for supper.

The sunset was spectacular....Head for the beach, we thought....too late..but I did get some fairly good images..although what is good on the phone screen might not be when enlarged!

Borth beach was rather breezy..back to the cabin for supper.

Pirate got the microwave to behave, after lighting the fire in the stove..and I found the programmes on the TV...until it decided that there was no internet...but there is... because I am here blogging!!

Himself has gone to bed feeling tired and ironically missing his afternoon siesta, despite sleeping all morning.  I think he needs to be a little tougher on himself with timing eating and sleeping then his energy levels should creep up to an acceptable level for himself.

The way things are going...and he is not happy about how his body is behaving..he will be talking to our District nurse and his Macmillan Cancer Support nurse sooner rather than later in February.

His choice. And thankfully he is capable of choosing. But I don't think he realised exactly what he chose previously would entail.   Sometimes you can spell things out plainly to someone but they won't take it in properly because they are where they are, or preconceptions or whatever.

What he doesn't want...should actually give him what HE wants... quality of life and control.  Which is what he is losing now.

And so we carry on.

There will possibly be a fair amount of driving tomorrow for him to see his friend....but somehow I need to get back.into drawing.

That is tough stuff Pirate is facing… and you.
I look forward to seeing new drawings by you though!
(however you can manage that)

Sorry to hear about Pirate. Hope the District Nurse or Cancer Support Nurse can help.

It's so difficult to be the supporter/carer at times... We need to remember the airline admonition, "attend your own needs first, so as to be able to attend another's" (I paraphrase...) I send Zen vibes for the Pirate - and you. YAM xx

It gets bloody difficult and depressing sometimes, but you have to find things to keep you doing.

A tough row to hoe, and so much forbearance required of those who care much.

I am glad he reached a decision. It is an awful feeling to watch someone you care about suffering.

My best thoughts to both of you.

PS: The pictures were beautiful.

I can see how these are hard decisions to make, for sure. Hopefully if he speaks to his doctors and his cancer nurse they can help him make informed decisions.

This is hard to read. I did have hopes that things would go better for the Pirate. Stout heart to you.
