Carrying on..

 Tidying, sorting... hunting for things...

Yesterday's weather was wet cold and windy...again....

I managed half an hour on the turbo trainer...which warmed me up nicely!

Last thing Saturday night some news arrived on fb..... confirmed on Sunday morning..

One of my best cycling buddies in the women's masters track cycling died on Friday after four days in intensive care...one of her daughters found her unconscious at home on Monday.

Someone in her 50s with everything going well...a caring partner, new legal partnership (family law solicitor) . A person who cared, and danced, and worked hard on her fitness and enjoyed her racing.

Two daughters growing up well...it is just tragic.

Today started sunny but with high winds...I put extra pegs on the washing and it dried at high speed!!

After lunch I drove to Ayr.... recycling light bulbs at B&Q ( like Mitre 10, Tigger's mum...but not as good!)

Recycling batteries and water filter cartridges at Sainsbury's...and picking up reduced things there and Asda...six packs of kiwifruit looking rather lonely...I will slice and dry them, that makes a nice nibble.

And going to The Range where I usually buy blank cards and envelopes for printing.... nothing...and in the Kilmarnock branch just four inch square brown ones...which I have anyway.   The staff member I spoke to was very apologetic..she remembered it as it used to be too, with a good selection of all sorts of art stuff.

Home again, going a longer way just because, on a sunny afternoon in a warm car!

Oh, what a blow, to lose a young, good person like that. A loss to the world—and to you. I am so sorry.

Oh I love the idea of drying the kiwi fruits. I’m going to try it

I am sorry about the death of your friend, sudden and she was doing well. When Boom. In January I wrote about the sudden death of a good friend, which coupled with the sudden death of our other dear friend in November was a shock. Hugs to you.

...each day it becomes harder for local stores to stock inventory, the internet is killing them!

Sorry to hear of the untimely passing of your friend. Life is short so we should all enjoy it to the hilt. Glad for you to have a sunny day and a warm car.

Such tragic news about your cycling buddy -- and so young too! Sorry for your loss, my condolences.

We used B&Q all the time in UK. Mitre 10 is a franchise (different owners each store) so they can be wildly different in what they stock and how they are set out. Bunnings is the other big hardware outfit here but lost my vote when I discovered they don't stock workboots for women. There are loads of female tradies and farmers and other workboot wearers here and their feet are just as important as the men's. So there. Anyway I hope you find a better range of cards - do you have access to a hobbycraft?

That is terribly sad news about your friend. Far too young.

A young life cut short is so sad. I'm sorry for your loss.
Store stock is disappointing today. Shelves are sparce sometimes, and many items are out of stock.

Warm sunny drive to make a balance perhaps for lack of art supplies. Nothing to balance the loss of a friend so young.

Bunnings used to be good in Te Aroha...more like an old fashioned ironmongery in attitude of the staff, knew what you wanted and where it was...but that was twelve years ago. Not sure it is still there.
Hobbycraft is down in Carlisle..100 miles away...or Falkirk or Leith !! The card blanks are the same price in the small shop...so a quick decision!!
