Winter still here

I didn't have a brilliant night's sleep....so was running late with everything in the morning..guess who trotted after the green waste lorry to ask if the wanted me to bring my wheeled bin to the lorry?...towel around wet hair and sandals on feet!!!!

They took pity and reversed three houses back to mine !!

It has been cold all day, with strong winds and heavy squalls of rain...even the ferry service to Arran was disrupted...despite sailing from Troon which is usually a better harbour in rough weather than Ardrossan.

I raised my laptop to a better working level...

But it still refuses to communicate with the printer (which does work with the tablet) despite having what should be the right printer driver installed.

It was definitely a stay in and keep warm day...hang the expense!!

I got on with Our Shirts patchwork a little...two of the four central big blocks are now together and I've started on the fourth.

At four the district nurse who cared for Pirate in his final weeks called round .I had texted her at the beginning of the week...

She is in need of bedding plants and I have geraniums!! Plus some primroses and snowdrops.

She hadn't been sure if I'd want her to call..the association with Pirate's demise...but we get on so well, so it's a good friendship both ways.

It is still getting dark quite early...I'll be glad when I can have an early supper and do things afterwards!!

So it was a good time to be in contact with our Friend in France and plan my visit there in September!!

So much I want to get on the way before then !!!

Right now I’d love a bit of cold weather. It’s still very warm.
Although we are noticing the days are shorter. It’s still dark when we get up and the sun is starting to set a little earlier eqch day
A trip to France sounds very nice indeed

Great service from the waste lorry guys! And I'm sure your bedding plants will receive a good home with the district nurse. When I used to have outdoor planters, I always had red geraniums -- a favourite! Plus they are still beautiful well into the autumn.

...spring is a tug-a-war between winter and summer.

That cloud looks as though it means business. Dark in the mornings now and earlier at night. Roll on the end of daylight saving.

My gosh. That is an ominous looking sky! You have my sympathies with the computer issues. That's all...sympathies...I am no good for actually being useful.

I think the plants will..they also farm, so low maintenance flowers needed!

Yes...and being an offshore island to a continent, we're in the middle of it !!

That does look like an inside day if ever I saw one! Glad the Our Shirts patchwork is making good progress. More than I can say for my heritage quilt. Which part of France? My friend out there is trying to persuade me to come over - it's the cat-sitters which are the problem though, now Tam is back at work.

I see you know Woolly Val!

A trip to France sounds like a wonderful idea. Away from rain and cold winds.
Can't help much with the printer. Is it WiFi / Bluetooth connected? I have issues with my Bluetooth hearing aid. If I connect to P's phone it "forgets" my phone and I have to reset it all!

Your sky signals cold with rain. Winter mix weather seems typical right before true Spring warmth arrives.
Computer/printer issues are challenging to me too. Did you say your brother is the family expert? He might have a solution.

It has been rather moist here too - although steamy! So same, same but different. Our days are very noticeably getting shorter.

I did connect the last one via WiFi..but I think that it is a problem with the printer driver

Those friends we made in the time of great family need are a double edged sword but they understand better than anyone else what we went through. Good hospice nurses know they are tending not just the patient but the close family as well. That needed end ...

Sounds like you need to stay warm there. It's still sunny and warm here, Autumn isn't cold yet.

That chill in the air meant the cats went back to sleeping on me, and wanting to snuggle constantly
