Still safe

the dogs have the right idea....

We have been giving a hand where we could.

More deadwood has been removed, I have been helping to clear sticks and do a bit of garden tidying.

We helped erect a chook fence to give an extra run outside the chook "yurt"

The grapevines give the run a good sunshade roof, and this movable fence gives them a run around fresh grass...it is only plastic woven mesh and a few uprights, but it should do the job. Apart from when the guinea fowl (2) jump in and harry the chooks (12) back into the main enclosure!!

Fungi are beautiful
So this is what cicadas look like!!

We caught up with an old friend of mine from the 70s this afternoon..she lives three sections up the road!!

Watching the television coverage of cyclone Gabrielle, we all realise how fortunate we have been.

It is hard watching the devastation. Some people have lost so much.

I am so happy you're safe, and not where the cyclone did a lot of damage. Pictures here of the damage are gruesome.

I have been thinking about you both and hoping you were escaping the worst of it. The dreadful earthquake has more or less wiped the news of your cyclone off our screens.

All will be well.

Weave. I am not surprised. The area in Turkey and Syria is the equivalent of an area in New Zealand from above Hamilton to the southern point of the North Island

I have not heard one word on this.
