Walking to Mātangi

Time to get walking again...so I started with a walk to the village...

Common sense not to put concrete here...so as the tree grows it is easy to change the path

Monkshood... poisonous 100%..and there is so much here. Yet another introduced ornamental pest.

This oak hadn't had its lower branches cut, so they support it

Busy cat!

A long black and a ginger slice to reward my efforts...and a boost for the 3k back !!
And yes....I succumbed to temptation.....

Back home..and welcomed..

The venerable Digby...17 years old and still gets the zoomies at times....

This was a good walk. You'll sleep well tonight. Thanks for the lovely photos and tour. Sweet Digby was elated to see you back home.

I've really enjoyed this walk. I love the sign on the school especially.

That's quite a walk. I have never seen an oak tree like that. Amazing! The laughing Buddha is cracking up, isn't he? I love the sheep herding cat. What's a ginger slice? Is it like a piece of what we call gingerbread? Such a pretty place, and so, so green. It just makes me long all the more for this winter to end. I'm tired of single digit nights and wind, wind, wind.

The ginger slice if it had a chocolate topping would be Millionaires slice...but the top was almost ginger fudge over caramel on shortbread base.

It isn't all green around here..only a third of the average rainfall so far this year
