We're still having air from the South, so the days are getting warmer while it lasts. The nights show the true weather as in some places it drops nearly to freezing point.
Mugs and jugs done and dried, as is the washing!! Now I'm making bigger bowls and plates in between getting the bread and supper baked. More pie-crust rims I think, as they show well in the darker glazes.
The official announcement came today- first class postage stamps are up from 46p to 60p next month, and the "simplification" of the parcel and small packet rates will hit hard.
I know we may still have average postal rates after this, but a rise of these proportions hurts.

Especially as the rates are almost at the maximum they are allowed to raise them for 7 years. At least for the 2nd class going up to 50p a stamp, the maximum they are allowed to go up to over the next seven years is 55p. Not sure of the of the maximum for the rest of the costs.
Means I could do with having all my new promotional things ready to post before that. I don't think I will manage.
Joseph, get the stamps that are marked 1st or 2nd class, not a monetary value, NOW...they will be valid after the rise
I have a large, antique, dark green glazed (my favourite), pie-crust rimmed, platter. It's so beautiful!
I wish we had a choice or services, like my American friends, that might make it all more competitive.
We can choose to use other services...but they are cheaper because they don't have local post offices and don't deliver all over the UK every day for a fixed price...
so the Post Office isn't competing on a "level playing field" I think if the others had to quote for the service we receive from the PO it would be a different story.
shipping here in the states has gotten so high as well- up every year. I have plates to trim myself.
