away day!

I unpacked the kiln first thing this morning, and re-packed a glaze firing...but instead of lighting the kiln, I had a day off!

I spent the day in the Abergavenny garden with friends, weeding, lifting (and washing) the last of the parsnips and planting onion setts. It has been a glorious day spent well in good company and a meal shared as the afternoon turned a little chilly.

Sure hope your camera is up and running soon. Would have enjoyed Abergavenny gardens and seeing the glazed platters. Can't wait.

Onion sets in already? Maybe I'd better get out there are start on mine. I only grow reds, and still have a few kilos from last year's crop.

I'd hang fire on the red onion sets- too early and they just bolt....mind you, you're probably ahead of us in gardening climate terms.

I don't blame you being out in this gorgeous weather, you've been so busy lately. Can't wait to see pictures of everything xx

I stumbled across your blog when Googling images of 'Cwmcarn Allotments'; I shall visit more often :)
My grandfather used to have an allotment on Nantcarn Road and I am currently in the middle of writing about him. Your pictures have brought lots of lovely memories back to me, thank you :)
From your newest reader, in Abercarn!

A day off well deserved -- nothing better to revive the spirit (to me) than working in the dirt is there?
