digging

I dug over, added compost and manure and planted a new strawberry bed!!

The sun brought out most of the gardeners on the allotments.

Now I'm retreating to the workshop to weigh clay ready for throwing....

You'll sleep well tonight! That's all very physical.

Nice Spring days do fill one with visions of produce and a desire to get one's hands dirty.

It seems spring is arriving earlier every year. At this rate we will be digging our patches on boxing day. Would you believe I have already seen some bluebell flowers in the woodland?

Perfect weather here, so this afternoon I too shall spread compost and manure, and set-to with my rotovator. I shall also plant red onion sets, and sow carrots.

I made a new strawberry bed a week ago. Three different types of strawberries and all free from generous friends and neighbours with off-shoots to spare. Great hopes for the future!
